Milan Franklin first came to Tackett Service Dogs, Inc. as a client in 2013 to raise and train his service dog, a Fox Red Lab named "Brodey." Milan, after being injured and separated from the United States Marine Corps, had always wanted to do more to help other veterans like himself. Having experienced first hand the pain and hardship of returning from the war a completely different person than when he left and finding himself quickly out the door and forced to transition back into civilian life, Milan was inspired by Tom's selfless actions and unrelenting drive to help those in need. It wasn't long before he left his job, vowing never to return to corporate America ever again, and decided to pursue his ambition of helping others by becoming Tom's apprentice and learning to train dogs.
 
Since then, Milan has trained countless dogs with various temperaments and behavioral problems and has personally helped train numerous certified service dog and therapy dog teams from Tackett Service Dogs, Inc. Milan is also a CGC evaluator for AKC, a Professional Premium member of APDT, and an Associate member of IACP. Tackett Service Dogs, Inc. has been recognized by the “Wounded Marine Semper Fi Fund”, “Wounded Warrior Battalion”, “Wounded Warrior Project”, “The Foundation for Service Dog Support, Inc.” and the “Patriotic Service Dog Foundation”.​
